What do I need to tell the Media before their first 'Blind call'?

Written by Caley Wilson

Any journalists or media organisations you work with are all set to use Blinder right now. But when communications and media managers are scheduling their first 'Blind call' for them, it can be handy to have a few words to explain things. You're welcome to cut and paste from the notes below.

For Comms to share with Media

Trialling a new system

  • We’re trialling a safe, simple and smart system called Blinder to better connect our spokespeople with the media.

  • At times agreed with us, Blinder lets you directly dial our spokespeople on their personal mobiles.

  • Blinder works just like a regular phone call, without anyone needing to download new software.

It's super simple for you

  • When you have a request to interview one of our spokespeople, you’ll contact us (just like now).

  • Once an interview has been agreed, we’ll then use the Blinder system to schedule the interview and you’ll be sent call details by text and email.

  • At the agreed interview time, all you need to do is dial our Blinder number along with the 4-digit number you’ll be automatically sent for any interview.

  • You can make the ‘Blind call’ from any phone line.

You’re all set

  • For everyone’s protection, no personal contact details are exchanged using Blinder and interviews can be centrally recorded. (Just let us know if you’d like us to share any recording with you).

  • We see this system helping us to provide even better media access to our spokespeople and we’d value your feedback over our trial.
