Blinder studio basics

Add your own branding to recorded videos by uploading logos and images

Written by Caley Wilson

(The following article refers to Blinder Studio beta as of the version 4.6 release in September 2021.)

Blinder makes it simple to quickly edit your recorded “all participants” video interviews with Blinder Studio. You can use Blinder Studio with recorded files captured since the Blinder version 4.3 release on July 8, 2021.

If you do not see the video editor in your call details page, be sure to clear your browser cache or do a hard refresh of the page using CTRL+SHIFT+R (for Windows) or COMMAND+SHIFT+R (for Mac).

Editing video using Blinder Studio

To open Blinder Studio, first select the video clip you want to edit from the library of the “Video call details” page. In Blinder Studio beta, only “All Participants” videos, and clips created from those, are editable.

Add an image to the Logo Library

You’ll be able to create a new layer from any image that you can upload into the Logo Library. As a starting point, we’ve included a simple overlay in the Logo Library, but you can add your own. It must be a PNG (portable network graphic) file under 2MB.

Click the upload button and select from your computer the PNG you wish to upload into the library.

Your image cannot have the same file name as an image that is already in your library.

Delete an image from the Logo Library

To delete an image from the Logo Library, hover the mouse over the file and click the trash can icon to prompt the confirmation menu.

Add an overlay to the video editor

To add an image from the Logo Library as a new layer in the video editor, hover over the image and click the plus icon (+).

If working with multiple layers, the first layer added to the editor will appear behind any additional layers added afterward.

Delete a layer from the video editor

To delete a layer from the video editor, hover over the name of the layer in the editor timeline and a trash can icon will appear.

Click the icon to delete the layer.

Moving or changing the size of new layers

Select the image layer by clicking on it in the preview window. Once selected, a blue bounding box with scaling pins will appear.

Use your mouse to reposition the layer, or click and drag a scaling pin to change the layer’s size.

Working with multiple layers

The layers are arranged as they appear in the editor timeline, with the recorded video on the bottom and subsequent layers stacking in order. If you need to re-order layers in the video editor, delete them from the timeline and re-add them from the Logo Library in the correct order.

Each layer can also be trimmed with unique start and end points. Therefore, you can have separate image layers appear at different times, or overlap through the sequence. However, the final video length will process based on the “All Participants” start and end points.

Exporting an edited video

Once you have finished editing your video in Blinder Studio, click the “Finish” button in the upper right of the page to begin processing the new video clip.
